This piece, donated to the office of my children’s Brighton Day Care and Pre School Centre, was inspired by the decorative white iron grate over the office window and the rooms cherry coloured feature wall. The ladies in the office asked me one of the most popular questions, which is, will art for children date?
So in return, I asked the ladies what they would like for their office they declared 'Flowers!" and then I simply relied, ''bugs!” ( to interest the children). The result, in real life especially, is fabulous. Young and old alike, love to investigate the delicate materials and carefully crafted bug menagerie made especially for them from beads, faux gems and glittery bits of fabric and mesh. This collage proves that art can be for adults as well as for children and the day care ladies love it!
