This is my creation for Brisbane Designer Kate Davis Steer where I have suggested the idea thereby adding movement to the kitchen décor and tying design elements together across the open plan space which consists of lounge, dining, kitchen, entry way and hallway.
This painting presents itself at the end of a hall in which there is also a sideboard where the vases inspiring it sit with other tasteful decorations. The corresponding artwork “Young Lounge” is seen not far away and so the floral aspect is carried through as if by breeze, to “Wind In The Kitchen.” This light hearted painting is created on a brushy white background infused with iridescence (which doesn’t show up in photographs) and very delicate warm tints and tones. The vases dribbled look has been created dribbling runny enamel paint.
