Jillian and Russel were so happy they wrote this testimonial.
"We built a house and knew from the start that we wanted something different when it came to our decor. We wanted to decorate our home in a modern Japanese style and though it was easy to find modern attributes, it was incredibly hard to find Japanese items that didn't look Balinese and would fit in with out contemporary look.
I was stuck with finishing off our formal lounge room which I had envisioned as something of a Japanese Tea Room with a modern twist. I had a big blank white wall and with everything being so neutral, I wanted to inject some colour and energy into the room without ruining its sense of calm. I searched extensively for an art piece for this wall. I searched as far as Cairns and Perth and could not find what I was looking for. I went to the Sydney Japanese Gardens for inspiration. It was then set that I wanted a painting of Siamese Fighting Fish - birds and fish in Feng Shui are meant to bring harmony to a home.
Being of Japanese origin and with such vibrant colours the Siamese Fighting Fish would add life to the room, the flow and curves of their tails would soften the look and keep the tranquillity I was after. I searched the internet for paintings of Siamese Fighting Fish and so many tattoos came up that I got the idea to get an artist to paint the fish for me. I researched all different artists but could not find somebody who understood what I was after.
I saw an advertisement for Sharron Tancred from WFYH. The idea of tailor made art really appealed to me and within days I had an appointment. The appointment was fantastic. Sharron was the first artist who got exactly what I was after. She was also the first artist who would be willing to paint the art directly onto my walls I didn't want them on canvas.
All of the colours were carefully picked. They even incorporated the shades in the room’s timber and the opposing teal feature wall and its tricky pearlescent finish, as Sharron later painted an irredescent medium over the fish! The sketch Sharron drew up was perfect, exactly what I had in mind. The fish took 2 days to complete and we are so impressed with how amazing they look. The colours work so well and we are so excited that we now have art that is stunning and unique and adds the wow factor to an otherwise boring room."
