When Jane Mackenzie-Ross, proud owner of the new Remax offices at Caboulture met local artist Sharron Tancred, she just knew Sharrron’s “tailored art” was the right thing to decorate the offices reception and meeting room areas. During her free Works For Your House appointment, Jane requested that Sharron create 2 works on canvas of our local scenery, from Bribie Island and the Glasshouse Mountains and featuring the Remax balloon and corporate colours, all ahead of the renovations.
To ensure the renovations matched Jane’s art investments, Sharron spent over an hour teaching Jane and her colleague Michelle, valuable interior decorating tips such as what to take away from the space, what exact colour scheme to follow using a colour wheel and how to use the colour scheme to it’s best advantage; also what not to do, all ensuring that Remax’s corporate colours, were accentuated whilst making the best of the existing decor. With a modern-rustic theme, Sharron suggested installation of new lime washed floors, appropriate couch patterns and how to hand dozens of framed certificates neatly, then giving Jane details for reliable interior designers who could assist her.
Sharron says, “Clients are welcome, as in Remax’s case, to give me reference material to work from and chose other art in my folio as a style basis. I “thumbnail” designs up, on the spot, so they can see what I am thinking and then they have a chance to make suggestions. Later the designs are drawn to scale and emailed for further approval and later my clients are invited to visit my studio to check colour and style!
“I am very careful with colour and work according to the infallible rules of the colour wheel. My clients all receive a free colour wheel of their own which, at their appointment, I teach them how to use so they can consult it for good décor decisions, saving time and money. It is a pretty clever system that coupled with prices below gallery costs, ensures my clients love the whole experience!”
