Portraits of babies, toddlers, kids, teenagers and adults look so much warmer than a photo…and still match your décor!

Any age group can be painted but toddlers are so cute aren’t they. So, find a really charismatic photo of your child that you love and send it to us.  If you send your rooms colours or photos we can use those colours in the artwork!  Your child's portrait will come back better than a photo: with colour, charachter and style! Over the years, your child will love looking at the portrait and will feel they had lots of spark as a toddler and therefore, feel good about themselves. Some family photo styles really date, but these won’t as there is no drapery or furniture to tell the decade by.

In October 2007 Works For Your House painted 72 portraits for the Westfield Shopping Centre at North Lakes in Brisbane for their “Faces Of North Lakes” permanent gallery of local children’s portraits.  These portraits of kids were created in only 2 hours each due to a 6 week deadline imposed by the client. Because of this commission your truly learnt to paint portraits really fast, meaning your kid won’t have to wait weeks! Once you have chosen a canvas size and provided your picture and preferred colours, artwork can be supplied in very good time and delivered to you using our preferred specialist art freighters.

Teenagers are more sophisticated than kids, so the colours may be more muted, darker or at least not as lolly as for toddlers and not as soft as for babies. Send a photo that your teenager already likes, wearing clothes he or she is comfortable with. If you are a teenager reading this, feel welcome to ask for a painting for mum or dad as a gift.
