Cheryl and John Rasmussen of North Lakes Qld wanted something abstract, with all the colours possible for their open plan lounge room. Cheryl could then change her decor accessories seasonally.
Red was to be the dominating colour with white canvas sides. Cheryl particularly liked our suggestion of splats and so this design was sketched for her on the spot at her appointment. Then drafted onto canvas, showing the colour balance for her approval and once given, away Sharron worked, at times deserving a nice cuppa tea.
Cheryl and John were given a few decor tips for their space which they have acted on improving their space.
Decor Tips
- Backs of lounges are unsightly, move your lounge to look more inviting.
- Keep your coffee tables, they are an absolute necessity. If you have an open space available, place a designer reclining chair there in a neutral colour for instance to give an option ti the lounge and add style.
- Just 2 cushions on a couch can look spare. Always buy 2-3 of any cushion in 2-3 complimentary patterns i.e. stripe, floral and plain. You can always put one on a chair nearby and increase the effectiveness!
- Plants. A different green from what is seen outside will stand out. If green isn't in your decor, don't have indoor plants. Blue green, green and yellow green are different hues.
- Rugs, like art, are an opportunity to unite your decor colours as well as provide contrast and comfort. Itis easier to buy your rug before you commission art from us, as paint is flexible, rugs patterns and sizes aren't...this saves you time!
- Spread your art. It is a good idea to get art that will match other pieces in the room by style, colour and framing. In this way, you will create a theme and give harmony to your space, resulting in that much desired Vogue look.
