ABOUT SHARRON TANCRED

Director, Sharron Tancred has many skills.  Artist, interior decorator, graphic designer, illustrator and entrepreneur.

Sharron is one of those rare people who see’s the full glass of milk.  She lives with a can do attitude every day of her amazing life. This super mum balances her busy career with a happy family life, always in style and with great attention to detail.

She works virtually non stop  eiether on projects or on growing her business.  Her philosphies are simple:

"Clients needs give me the inspiration to create, I don't get up and think of what I will create on any given day, I need a brief!"

"I believe in the power of the mind.  That anything I dream can become reality with effort and planning.  I let nothing get in my way."

"I believe that what goes around comes around and I live my life accordingly, treating people as I would have them treat me.  I am kind, patient, generous and loving or simply ferocious!"

The ideas come frequently and Sharron is one of those people who just has to act on them! She is loved for her effervescence but it is her versatile talents, that you will love.

Sharron's success began in Brisbane at Clayfield College, where she earned the top mark in art every year.  She achieved high grades studying an Illustration degree at The Queensland College Of Art followed by The Gold Award for Design in a Diploma course at The Commercial Art Training College.

Sharron worked as a graphic designer and illustrator in a prominent Brisbane design studio for several years, then for 3 years in a London design studio. She returned, freelanced, and left again to travel the world...in fact, an astounding 52 countries with intermittent freelance stints!

She left her first marriage, gained another Diploma in computer graphics, met her husband Peter and then worked 3 years in a Brisbane advertising agency as the Senior Designer and Illustrator with her own exclusive list of clients. At this point Sharron was creating large canvases for event auctions and boardrooms specialising in collage.

Sharron left the agency to start her family and begin Great Graphical Adventures, her own design studio. When her children Georgia 4 and Lana 2, were painting canvases for presents, Sharron was inspired and wondered about beginning Works For Your House.

A girlfriend who owned an Interior Decorating school suggested she do the certificate course and she did! In the same year Sharron did the Colour Psychology certificate to become one of the world’s first with a qualification in this amazing field.

After only 10 months in business Sharron was awarded a highly commended for being the most innovative and emotionally engaging business entry in the Pine Rivers Shire small business success story competition, then was nominated as Best New Local Business for 2008 and after that for the Art and Culture Achievements Award on a state level in 2008 and 2009.

In November of 2009 Works For Your House became company with commissions booked months in advance and government work on board.....and the rest is yet to come.
